I ****ing suck at life! I spend all my time looking for car parts and researching what I want to do next, all the while not putting what should be my priority (school) first. I obsess too much and it's ****in killing me, cause I wait until the last moment then stress to get work done. When am I going to learn...

yep, all computer driven. we have a multicam 5x10 cnc router. spindle rpm at 24,000. holes are no sweat. precise intricate shapes no problem. can cut, wood, acrylic, plastic, high density foam (in 3d shapes), aluminum, some steel, polycarb, etc...
oh and i can print directly to it as well. so you can imagine, printing and contour cutting all that good stuff...

Im thinking using the silver trim piece to hold it all together. A black background with holes drilled in it for the LEDs to go through and a red acrylic piece for the front of it.
the tricky part is going to be finding the translucent red acrylic. you might need to use clear then a red tail light overlay. if the piece is flat, it will cut that out no problem. im assuming you have the chrome bezel already? do you have an accurate diagram or drawing of the pieces? where the led's go, mounting holes, etc? how thick is it? i have 1/4" acrylic and some other clear plastic thinner than that in stock.
That can be done. Lots of trimming and measuring... but then again...it's better than spending $300.
This was my 98' EK. I made a custom rear fog. It's the same as the one they sell for $250. Fortunately I have factory rear fog on my 911. Had it on my 350z also if you remember?

Im going to be getting the chrome bezel once I find that the job is possible. Ive seen translucent red before but its expensive, probably cheaper to overlay it. Im just eyeballing this project because the actual JDM one you have to cut part of my bumper which I dont want to do. The whole thing is very thin I know that though. No idea on how to mount on the bezel.
Definetely, the JDM one is too bright anyway as it is an actual Rear fog light for Fog. Have to make your own to act as a accent light. This picture is actually one made by a rx8club member, he distributed it but went out of business. So time to make my own.
