Finally got around to watching the drift vids. I must have missed the boat on drifting. I'm not hating on it, I just don't understand the appeal. I've owned an s13 with a LSD. Drifting around corners when you need/want to is fun but it Seems like the sport of drifting is all about one continuous drift. goodbye tires. Goodbye clutch. Goodbye transmission. Goodbye motor. Goodbye body parts. I've seen a couple live drift events and it was t very impressive live either. Most of the drif cars are beat to $hit too cause of grazing/colliding with the wall a few too many times.
beat to sh*t yes, tons of broken parts yes, did i have fun HELL YEAH.
kyle - drifting is always about big angle and with big angle theres always going to be tire smoke, at the same time though to achieve these things the level of drifting will have to be stepped up by entering corners at higher speeds which is difficult to do.

iono i just like the whole pure carnage of the whole thing, walking on the edge of control and out of control, its a whole balancing act, plus its like going against what mama always says, we all learn how to drive and grip through a turn, but sliding, keeping the rear out and doing the complete opposite is a whole new level of learning.
