Well, Charlie....if I 'wooed' her that much...then that means that if I go home with her, I will be getting some action! w00t! and as much as I love hanging out with you all.........getting a piece is ALOT more enticing.....sorry guys. However, she knows that Thurs. is BDG night, so I dont think there will be any issues...other than the fact that she was in Oregon all day for work, and will be getting home just before we go to dinner, so she may be tired. But she's a trooper.

......I have a story to tell y'all...... .......yesterday, I get home from work, chill for a bit, and then realize that my little message light is blinking on my answer machine. I think; "hmmmmm, I wonder who called me and left a message." So I walk over to the machine and push the little button with the blinking light, and I hear a message from Gruppe-S....!!!!..... they say, that my Twin Scroll turbo, header and up pipe just came in, and I can come pick them up anytime..... I'm like w00t!!!!!!!!!1one.....

Today on my lunch break I drive over there feeling like a little kid that just woke up Xmas morning...I get there, and Preston is there, I say wasssssup, and he says HI....then he says that yes....my parts are in......BUUUUUUUT......they haven't been taken off of the engine that they were shipped on yet, so I can see them, but I cant take them home yet. so I say yea, I wanna see 'em, so atleast I have a mental pic to drool over all day....heh heh heh....Anyways, I ended up paying off the balance I owed them for it, and picking up their LAST, stashed away, hidden Walbro 255. So atleast I had something to take home with me.

Anyways, Preston said that he MAY be able to talk someone into taking it off for me today, and if so, he would bring it to me at BDG tonight! So we'll see.... <keeping my fingers crossed>

So now all I have left to buy on my shopping list are:
STI injectors
TGV delete
STI Oil Pan
JDM/aftermarket twin scroll Downpipe

and the list of stuff I have waiting to put in:
JDM STI TMIC
Perrin Fuel rails
Walbro 255
*JDM Spec-C Twin Scroll Turbo VF37 (Will be sent to Deadbolt for a full P&P and ceramic coating ASAP.)
*JDM Twin Scroll Header
*JDM Twin Scroll Uppipe

(*=see story above for more details.)

Any who...here's my dyno sheet from last Sat @ Gruppe-S Dyno Day. This will be used as my baseline.

Not too shabby, gotta love that torque curve though.

209.4 @ 5500 whp
215 @ 3500 ft/lbs

Well......2 things....

#1 availability
#2 price

The only other Twinscroll setup I was able to locate (that will bolt on w/o any welding involved) is the GPMoto GT32 kit......and at $6k, I was not about to go there. Then I found the V8 Spec-C set, and was surprised at the fact that they are only around $1500 or so for the header, uppipe AND Turbo. Plus its a ball bearing Turbo, versus, the V7 setup that uses the VF36 which is a bushing turbo (similar to the diff. between the VF30 and VF34).

So I'm curious....what have you seen/heard about deadbolts work? I have seen Jeremys VF22 that he had them do, and it looks peeeeerty. Are there any other shops that will perform a similar service? I esp. like the Ceramic coating they do too.

Ted... I cannot wait to hear your car when you have the twin scroll set up.

I've always been curious as to what a two turbine turbo sounded like and felt like. Please give me a ride when it's all in and tuned.

A "twin scroll" or "divided inlet" means that there are two separate volutes within the turbine housing. The main reason for doing this is to isolate the pulses coming from each exhaust port and maintain more of the pulse energy from each cylinder all the way down to the turbine wheel.

There are no differences between the turbine wheels used in open or single inlet turbines compared to those used in twin or divided inlet turbines.

Cheers
Preston
