I'm not hating, I saw a couple of names on your invite list that I was counting on having work the rally.
You cross posted your "flyer" all over, and I was worried you were actually trying to recruit people for a drive on a weekend that several of us have a major event planned, that's all.
Have fun on your drive, any other time and I might come along, if that's what you want.... then again your e-attitude makes you seem like somebody I might not want to hang out with anyway

Yeah its all good.
Personally, I much prefer rally format drives where everyone is seperated by a minute or two, rather than "group" drives where red mist and interlopers have a long and sordid history of precipitating insurance claims.
After the North Nevada thing is over, I'll probably be putting on a couple of these in the north Bay or coast range, and as I mentioned the Redwood Rendezvous will be on its 6th year this fall.
I did put on a two day gravel extravaganza up out of Yreka for three years (04,05,06) but couldn't get more than a handful of participants so that went away last year.
Sadly these forums are mostly populated by people who'd rather e-thug than get out and give their Subaru the flogging they were built for, but there are a few of us, and you're right we should be getting along and doing more stuff together...
are you sure I can't talk you into a trip to the desert south of Gerlach to watch race cars in the gravel that weekend instead?

...I know there are a couple guys who've already got the time scheduled off plus a lot of these guys are weary about putting their car in the dirt so I will need to talk to the group on friday when we meet and see what they think.
Where will it be at? That's like the middle of NV or am I mistaken?

NNR is a full-on performance stage rally, so participants need fully prepped and caged cars, but we can always use volunteers to help with timing, road blockages and stuff like that.
This year we are trying not to encourage spectators, simply because we don't have enough volunteers, but next year we hope to have a few good spectating areas as well.
I'll make sure to let you know when I start putting on more accessible TSD style rallies later in the year too.

Since my car is also my daily & I want to keep the thing from rusting away I don't (or should I say won't) do the off-road / gravel runs. I'll go watch em though as I enjoy all sorts of racing. As for giving my car a proper spanking? I do that all the time on country roads....much like I did with my old gf. Ah the memories.
Personally I commend scooby_snacks for putting this all together and trying to be accommodating to everyone else. It's hard to set something like this up since you have to deal with haters, whiners and all the attitude that comes along with it. But you can't please all the ppl all the time. I am looking forward to meeting some new ppl, drinking some Guinness, eating a fat turkey burger and possibly making a few new friends.
Cheers!
