right now I have a Walther P99 in .40, it's logged about 1,500 rounds.
unfortunately, I won't have any time to head out to that gun show.
watch out with those hi-cap mags though, they are seriously illegal.
I don't think you can even legally defend yourself with a gun that has an illegal hi-cap mag, let alone go to the range!
I think the 10rd. limit has really hurt ppl that use 9mm pistols for self-defense, unless they are compact pistols.
Depending on your opinion, this has made the .40 and .45 better options in certain situations, if you weigh stopping power vs. capacity.
Your purchase of a .45 is rather wise!
If you're looking for ultimate ammo for protection for either of your guns, let me know, I have a lot of knowledge about it, especially what to do when you have a 9mm and need hot ammo!
I personally dislike any compacts, as I feel the P99 is small enough for a full-size, has a 4" barrel, and can be carried concealed.
Again, you lucked out getting a P99 in 9mm, from the 2003 era. The newer ones are ugly, have barrels, slides, and frames made in the USA (vs. Germany for yours and mine), and look like the S&W SW99 (IMHO ugly). The P99 in 9mm, like I told ya before, is a very accurate pistol.
I was turned on to the P99 because I was raised shooting my Dad's P88 full-size wondernine, not because of James Bond!
The P88 and P99 share so much Walther simplicity and excellent build quality, let alone accuracy.
I grew up in a family that is very pro-firearms, so I've shot thousands of rounds in a ton of different guns, so hit me up any time with questions.

I would hold off dude.
with all the 1911s out there, good research for yourself on what to get could take years.
what else grabs you?

i brought and shot all 100 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .45mm between the both of us. we were both shooting from 7 yards all the way to 17 yards. we were pretty good shooting at 7 to 10yards but got hella bad at 17yards.
berry, you did pretty good for a 3 time shooter.

no I used to be a member at Livermore before they closed down rifle & pistol.
I'd hit up Jackson Arms, but I don't drive in SF with my STi, and I love Skyline Blvd, so Los Altos is where I go usually.
