Grand Prix @ K1 Speed San Francisco

Let's go a Grand Prix at K1 Speed San Francisco!

Go-kart Racing San Francisco

We can do a "Mini Grand Prix" or a regular Grand Prix.

Or a Le Mans Endurance. But I don't think very many people will be up for that.

Plus side, as a group, we won't need to buy the $6 licenses.

Down side, we need a minimum of 8 people. I think they will allow 12 out on track at once. So if we can get 8-12 people together we should do this.

Let's get a list of people who are interested and then we can pick a date.

So, who's interested?

1. JourdanWithaU
2. LxJLthr
3. G_Ride
4. Shayhan27
5. 91vtec
6. Fendyman
7. PROcede
8. queeg9k
9. WRaholicX
10.
11.
12.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!

9 people are interested! When is a good date?

I like Sundays. Anyone opposed to Sunday? How about Sunday January 27th?

So far, the following people are in for the 27th;

1. JourdanWithaU
2. WRaholicX
3. SubbieMedic
4. LxJLthr
5. Shayhan27
6. w0ng3r
7. G_Ride
8. queeg9k
9.
10.
11.
12.

UPDATE

Ok, I just got off the phone with K1 (sorry for the lag) We have January 27th at 5:00 pm. They ask that we arrive 15 minutes prior to get everyone checked in. Also, everyone can pay for themselves as they arrive. I booked the Regular Grand Prix which is $60. I told them that we have at least 8, but no more than 12.

People on the list:

(confirmed)

1. JourdanWithaU
2. WRaholicX
3. LxJLthr
4. w0ng3r
5. queeg9k
6. JZ oo7
7. Fendyman
8. SubbieMedic
9. Giibo
10. LRP707STI
11.
12.

Also, here's a video of the track.

For those of you who have gone to the Santa Clara location, the SF location is way better. SF is a longer lap and a much better drive.
And the karts go faster at SF.

When's the last time you've gone to Santa Clara?

Their track is sketch as ****. Even if they give you full power, that doesn't fix the ****ty brakes, lack of traction, and massive understeer.

The karts at Santa Clara are beat to hell and back.

Never been on the track, went twice to BS with an old buddy I mentioned in that other thread. So I've got no experience on the gokarts, only what he has told me. He told me, they rarely crank the speed up to full speed except for employees or if the person is a regular and they know they can handle it. I'm sure you are correct about everything you say about them minus the speed of the gokarts.

I think the Regular/speed thing is pretty common across all locations though. SF does it too.

I have been told that there are 4 settings. 1 being slowest and 4 being fastest. When SF opened, they were giving everyone 4. I think they may have bumped it down to 3. Santa Clara is at 2.

+1 they slow the santa clara one down a lot. Also if you look on group on K1 normally posts deals discounting a $60 package for 45.

i've never experience them slowing you down after a fast lap either. look at those times, doesn't look like they slowed anyone down.

https://k1sanfrancisco.clubspeedtimi...px?HeatNo=2162

all of these are just like hot laps, but more expensive. why not just get a bunch of people and do hot laps?
