Well I thought I posted it up here but I guess it was else where. The cops rolled in lastnight and kicked us out.

thats amazing. i've only had a cop follow me 1 time out of all the time i've ever owned my RS (nearly 2 years). the reason for the cop following me: i was driving like an idiot.

1. do you have an aftermarket exhaust? if yes, that might be why they're following you.
2. do you have any non-factory stickers on your car? if yes, thats another reason why they'll follow you around.
3. are you blasting your music loud enough that people on the other side city can hear it? if yes, thats a DAMNED good reason why they'll follow you.
4. do you drive like a complete *** at the wrong time? if yes, you're asking for them to follow you.

like it or not, the ricer crowd typically does have aftermarket exhausts, lots of stickers, are blasting their music too loud or are driving like asses. and cops do NOT really make any differentiation between Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Nissan, Infiniti, Suzuki, Ford, Pontiac, GM or any other make. if you stand out, you stand out.

when the san jose cops handed out Ref tickets after the Wing Stop meet near the airport, i was followed for 3 seconds. since there is nothing that stands out about my RS, he left me in the dust and pulled over an STi with an aftermarket exhaust - the cop ran thru a red light to do so as well.

do i agree with the fact that they profile? no. do i understand WHY they profile? yes. if you dont like it, dont put yourself into the profile.

the bad part of profiling is that there are 3 other things that will cause them to follow you or pull you over:

1. driving while asian
2. driving while mexican
3. driving while black.

now honestly, its racist as hell and i dont agree with it. but, thats life. so, either being respectful and logical when talking with cops or just dont do anything to stand out.

nothing against u bro but the WRX attracts quite a bit more attention than an RS...especially when its bright blue! i have a very quiet, stock looking exhaust and mild window tint and my stereo isnt loud enough...its a blue wrx with time attack wheels...i have a right to buy any color car i want without being harrassed by ***** *** cops trying to make this state a buck. i understand that my car stands out but thats no reason to F with me constantly...

i used to get followed out of my complex all the way to the freeway when i had my truck...22s and some exhaust does not make me a criminal...

i have a wing, a hood scoop, only 2 doors... its says SUBARU on it as well... and i have giant fog lights. beyond that, my RS is white. admittedly, i have no window tint at all and i 'only' have the factory 99RS wheels...

so yeah. it does stand out.

yes, you do have the right to buy any vehicle of any color you want. i absolutely agree.

cops will harass people based on the general actions of people in similar cars. now, i dont mean similar AWD and Turbo cars, i mean compact import cars in general.

so, enough jackasses in their civics, intergras or similar, basically ruined it for the rest of us. thats life. deal with it.
