I baselined at 235 to the wheels after just those two installs. But the throttle response is what i noticed the most. In closing mostly from the downpipe. But I agree with subie OCD.
Although if you did a catback first then you would have a 2.5" downpipe going into a 3" catback. Compared to a 3"dowpipe going into a 2.5" catback. From a common sense point of view the 3" into a 2.5" would give you a little back pressure as where the other way would give you better flow. Not sure just a thought that i where talking about at the meet.

So this is what I thought about the catback alone/downpipe alone/full turbobback discussion. First, I'm all about a full turboback, and the only reason I only have a catback at the moment is because g-s doesn't have downpipes in stock. Having said that, it depends on what the ultimate goals and priorities are. If the main concern is an increase in sound with a moderate increase in power, then a catback is sufficient. It will keep you legal, provided you get a carb certified model like the Cobb or a Greddy one. Downpipe alone doesn't make sense because of the explanation given above. For maximum power gain, full turboback is the only way to go, provided this is combined with ecu modification. If you do not plan to or want to modify your ecu, then a full turboback isn't really right for you. As mentioned above, scarface got the same whp increase with his turboback that I got with my catback alone; however, the benefits of his turboback were ultimately realized only after the car was tuned. So the moral here is, either you go all the way with turboback and ecu-upgrade, or just stick with a catback. Better yet, start with the ecu-upgrade first, then do the exhaust later.
Finally, I was curious to find out exactly how low the g-s dyno reads. When my car was bone stock, with about 5k miles, the FLI numbers I got were: 257whp & 267 wtq, with ambient temps. a number of degrees cooler at FLI. Main differences are: Dyno area at FLI is fully exposed, whereas at g-s it's more enclosed, which will affect the ambient atmosphere. Also, the main difference is the process of how runs are done. At FLI, there was a pause between each run, wherein the intake manifold was sprayed down, whereas at g-s, the runs were done consecutively with no pauses between them. The mentioned differences, along with any possible elevation/atmospheric condition issues are what I think contribute most to the big difference between the readings between the two mustang dynos. I plan on doing another baseline at FLI with my current setup and mileage to see what the numbers will be there, now.
See y'all Monday.
