I thought maybe the Toys R Us Parking lot, Expo home design Center or the Best BUY one would have been much better. It's a WHOLE lot closer to the 880, and there's a ton of space. And most likely, the cops won't be coming there

I Say Expo
... It's a pretty big lot and it's on the way to 880. There shouldn't be a problem with someone on the loud speaker telling us the cops are coming.. (the cops will just come hehe j/k if we don't stay too long, I don't see a problem with anything

Here's a MAP Of the Area. That red dot is next to the parking lot (Which is to the Lower right of the Red Dot. The street where to red Dot is leads to IKEA (where the road bends going up) A block to the right of the dot, turn right (down) leads to the freeway

I just mapquested this, looks like its right in the exact same area as Ikea! isnt there a Target or something thats RIGHT off the freeway a couple exits up the 580 like around Gilman? Dont forget, not only do we not want to get called the cops on, but it needs to be a spot thats:
1 easy to find from the freeway by people coming for all directions,
2 easy to get back to the 880 S from(this was a BIG problem last year)
3 as few stop lights as possible to get back to the freeway since we are trying to keep a large pack of cars together.
Is there a reason that we just have to meet in that Emeryville maze???

but is there enough parking for all those cars? Also, it's going to be hell getting onto 880 from that onramp... And we're going to have to get through the maze again. So I figure, if we meet at Expo, at least the 880 Freeway will be just a few blocks out. All we'd have to do is turn the corner and get on the road that leads us to 880. that's all I know it's pretty close to Ikea, but the point is that we won't get into any trouble going there and parking in an orderly fashion.

If you want, I'll come over to DC and lead you guys over to that area. That way you guys won't be lost.

Okay this is getting retarded. Im going to head down there tomorrow and find a workable solution, just be flexible about where we may actually meet up. I still cant find a logical reason why we are trying to make the whole Ikea/Bay St. area work again other than it was someones idea to meet there last year. I know there are a few of you that are locals that know that area pretty well but keep in mind 80-90% of us will be coming from an hour +/- from all other direction to meet up there and could care less if we have to meet a couple exits up or down the freeway if it means finding a place thats much more accomodating to a large group of cars parking for a while and being able to easily get back onto the freeway.
