I'm interested, but it would have to be a weekend. Maybe some other parks open that aren't in SF?

San Francisco Recreation & Park Department
Permits & Reservations (415) 831-5500.

Reserving a picnic/BBQ area in Golden Gate Park is reasonably inexpensive. My friends recently held a BBQ party in the Pioneer East Meadow for their kids with about 80 guests. I forget what they paid to reserve the area but I think it was under $50. They brought their own folding tables, chairs, and BBQ grills, and rented one of those gas-powered trampoline things for the younger kids.

Alcohol is allowed at this location. Parking is free, and is plentiful if folks arrive early enough to beat the museum goers.

I'll do a BBQ. So long as it starts reasonably close to 11am (that's when I get off work) ;-)
