I've had one in a couple of cars and they've always given me a false sense of security and much rather trust my own judgement and just always keep an eye out of your surroundings. I'd say take the 300-400$ from a radar detector and get the brake setup or put it towards the swap and just be a cautious driver. But then again it's your money
i drive 85 with the flow of traffic all the way to sac, i need a radar to help me out. on our berryessa run, we were all going over a buck to buck ten and allens radar picked a chp up like 2miles away...... i play in my car and so i want a radar detector. easy to understand for most people, but i know you dont drive your car so i understand your point of view

but you cant see two miles ahead... i think its a smart investment and i bet most people on here do, especially after our last drive cuz we all would have past the chp at over 100 if allens radar hadnt picked it up.... you cant see on windy roads, at night, or into the chps little hide-away nooks. if im breaking the law, im going to try to be smart about it.

yeah man i know what you mean. if i had the money i would buy one too. I here a lot of good things about the Valentine V1. the radar detector is not going to work everytime, but even just warning you once can make up for how much you paid for the thing. I dont know how the detector works for unmarked cops, but there are more and more unmarked cars in this area. The one experience Sam Z. and i had with the SUV and just yesturday i saw another SUV, in a different color, pulling someone over. I know you really want to get one, and if you have the money then get one.
