1911s are great! I have been using the 1911 for duty, shootings, and building them since the late 80s. Along with a great design, one needs to treat them like a Harley Davidson motorcyle (for maintenance and care), not a lawn mower. Many new RPD officers that transitioned to them wonder why their 1911s are not as tolerant to neglect as their SIgs or Glocks. Also, you need constant training to keep your muscle memory tuned to take off the thumb saftey instictively when you draw and prepare to use your weapon.

Our officers at RPD need to go through an additional 40hrs of 1911 training on top of the normal 40 hours of firearms training to carry a 1911 for duty. Also, they need to score higher than minimum qual score.

damn u guys r hella gun crazy! hahah umm so I just changed my oil during my lunch break at work and damnn it's hella hot! I was sweating bullets!!!!!!!!!!

 

So early today I see the Thunderbirds and an A-10 flying around practicing for the weekend and I ran out giddy like a little kid with a huge grin on his face. Any of you other AF guys get that feeling? lol.


BTW - I've always been like that when I'd see jets fly by lol.

I will be in attendance tonight

 

Today was an actual airshow for active duty only. I think I'll show up tonight for a little bit.

 

Dammit I didn't get the memo but at least I got to see the Thunderbirds fly around my house area

Made me think back to one of my childhood hopes of being a pilot....maybe one day I'll go for officer to fly

 

what happened to the meet tonite? i was a little late (9pm) and hung around for almost an hour, but no one showed....

I got held over I had a 15 hour shift today. 10am-1am

This is how I ended my shift:

Three 18-20 y/o's in a Honda wraped it at a high rate of speed on Georgia Street in Vallejo. One was flown, one was taken to the nearest hospital, and the other self extricated and wasn't found for an hour because he fled.

No seat belts. These guys were F-ed up bad.



I have the fire academy in 4.5 hours, so I'm off to bed.

Sorry about last night Chris. It was pretty much Tanzley and I and we both had to get up kinda early so we bounced around 9ish.

 

almost involved in a shooting last night., some crazy mexican dude with a knife almost tried to come at us, needless to day he almost caught about 46 slugis to the head.



then i had to go to a scene of a shooting, 8 injured, two dead (pregnant motor and her unborn 7 month child)

made me sick to my stomach
