I'm not sure whether its good or not, sounds like that motor needs a full rebuild. Reason being, if you have to rehone, you pretty much have to tear the whole shortblock down since our boxer motors are constructed all funky. Trust me on this one, I've gone through the hassle of fully bulletproofing my motor and know what it takes to get stuff done right.

If I were you I would source out a brand new 2.5 STi shortblock through a shop. There are many shops that have access to these shortblocks.
