alright, so here are the symptoms.....
smoked out hood vent, started to overheat.
got towed home and checked coolant............ what coolant? there was none left.
i filled the radiator with water and my overflow tank, none seemed to leak while i let it idle for 30 minutes.
while it idled the temp gauge didnt move past halfway (where it normally does)
i turned on the heater.......... it still hasnt turned on.
so i drove it down the street..... it got hot QUICK, so i pushed it home.
there hella water coming from a hose that could be busted...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so, what do i do?

Stick a fork in it? aluminum engine - coolant = possible warped heads/block

Better get it towed to a shop for in-depth diagnosis. How many miles on it?

its got 92000, i think it dumped the coolant through the leak...
any second opinions? i called a couple places, they think its a hose, the thermostat, and possibly head gasket (only one place said that)

the water pump might be dead. Either way that sucks. Time to fix the car and get rid of it.

yup, Im looking at 07s and my parents will be okay with me getting one if my loan is for like $14,000 as long as I get around $9,000 - $10,000 for my car possibly parted out. I listed it on RS25 as a Testing Waters. My dad and I test drove the 06 before I bought this car, he's into it, especially since I will be paying for it lol.... but first I have to fix my car

Is a smog-legal WRX swap from LIC a possibility?

And I mean truely smog legal, none of this catless-uppipe&downpipe-now-I-need-to-get-my-****-tuned-so-it-don't-blow nonsense.

You need to just replace the water pump and see where that takes you. If you warped any of the heads or block you will start to burn more oil then normal and that is when you really need to get rid of it.

I would be down to go really any where on friday night. I will already be up on Davis that day so if yall wanted to go to redrum I could just meet every one up there. If not I will just drive down to the meet. I know it is impossable for us to plan ahead but its worth a shot.
