JDM Legacy conversion

JDM Legacy conversion
I found out today that my wife's Legacy needs new head gaskets. Sooo I'm thinking, if I can get a JDM TT Legacy over here??? How hard can it be to go LHD with both cars right in front of me? What would be the major obstacles, or other problems I haven't even thought of??? Whould it be easier to put motor and trans to mine, or convert the other to LHD?
Thanks.
Thanks.

firstly, if you import a RHD JDM legacy to the states, it is not street legal.. I work with an export company in japan and they export JDM cars to everywhere except the US (US NHTSA regulations are very strict and in fact a pain in the *** to get any japanese car legalized.) Getting an engine might be possible but the only problem is simply that Japanese engines dont have US VIN #s,.. so if you ever need to get the car smogged or anything legal, you might have some issues to deal with... good luck though.

Although costly, I think you could do it with simply the front clip. Of course, you'd have to tear apart your car, install JDM dash, then engine, etc, and it would be RHD...but this option is probably the most logical, legal and cheapest.
Of course, I'd probably just sell the car and get an 05+ legacy...but thats just me.
