SPT Catalog...
another question about items in the spt catalog. They offer an sti coolant cap that raises the pressure capacity to 18.9lbs from 13lbs. Anyone got this for a new body style legacy? I would assume it will fit, but will it cause me to blow a hose in the 109+ degree weather we've been having here in TX lately?!? I'd rather the cap fail than a hose or gasket!!!
Oh, and are the impreza radiator hoses the same? I would doubt it even though the 2.5l motor is the same. They have better sti hoses listed for the impreza but not the legacy...

Increasing the cooling system's pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant.
Have you recently boiled the coolant in your car? If not, save you're money.
If you have, you better do it right and replace all of the hoses; Upper & lower radiator, both heater hoses, and any other hose that carries coolant.
If you don't, you're asking for trouble. The higher pressure & heat could stress the old hoses, resulting in failure.
