OK, draw your own conclusions from the following:
The 2003 Legacy price range goes from $20,820 for a base model sedan, to $31,695 for a fully loaded wagon (numbers taken straight from subaru.com).
Per this article: click here
"Fred Adcock, president of Subaru North America.... Pricing will start near $21,000 for a standard four-cylinder and go up to nearly $30,000 for a fully tricked-out Outback wagon."
As this quote was taken from an article on the new Legacy, the reference to the Outback seems to be a typo. If this is accurate, price differences from the present models may not change drastically...

On saturday we saw an all silver 2005 outback wagon on I-5 with Michigan plates. This thing was sweet! As we came up on it, I couldn't tell if it was a low slung suv-thing or a big audi allroad. It appeared to have a good deal more ground clearence than the current model (but its hard to be sure of these things at 85mph)
I've got my fingers crossed the GT will be under 30K.
