new rear pads/rotors & a bad "knock" HELP!
Greetings,
I changed out the front rotors & pads a couple weeks ago (NAPA parts) and had no problems. Just got around to doing the rears on Sunday, and now there's a loud rotational knocking when I hit the brakes. Sounds like it's coming out of the right rear, but I just pulled the wheel & caliper off and didn't notice anything obvious (other than a tiny nick in the new rotor on the edge, but looks like the pad misses it anyway). The harder I brake the louder the knock gets.
On the left side I had a brainless moment when trying to get the old (warped) rotor off--I screwed the caliper guide bolts into the two rusty holes in the rotor to push the rotor away from the hub and the threads on the bolts weren't the same (stupid, stupid stupid). They took quite a bit of elbow grease to get them back into the caliper guides once the new rotor & pads were on...but this is on the left and the knock sure sounds like it's coming from the right.
Any ideas? Please help!!
Thanks,
Steve
