Choosing a car? {long}
Hi, everyone,
I'm not new here but haven't been around in quite a while.
I bought a 98 2.5 GT Wagon in 2000 and have always really like the car. I haven't driven it much in the last couple of years because my wife realized it was much nicer than her Nissan Altima.
The Altima caught fire this weekend so I'm looking for a replacement. A 2nd GT wagon is at the top of my list.
My questions relate mainly to the differences among the various model years.
How much have they changed from say 96 - 2001?
Since I'm familiar with the 98, would I notice much different (better and worse) if I chose one of the other model years?
Are there years or options to avoid?
My understanding is that the front/rear torque split is 50/50 in normal driving (5-speed). Is that true for other years as well?
Anything else I should be paying attention to as I look at the various cars?
Thanks to all who reply.

as far as i know, there isnt much difference between them. i think the 96 looked different, i dont think it had a hoodscoop or anything. they all had the 2.5l engine. look out for that engine though because they are prone to blowing head gaskets at some point. i have a 95 ls so im not too familiar with them, but ive noticed some of the trim options changed throughout the years.
