Aftermarket '05 Legacy Parts
I have been looking at some upgrades to do on the '05 Legacy GT. I guess it will be a while before aftermarket manufactures will have made parts for this car since it is so new.
Does anybody know how long it takes before you start seeing aftermarket parts available for new cars?
Are there any suggestions for cat-back exhaust systems?
Other then exhaust, air filter and tuning, are there any other power upgrades that can be done that are relatively inexpensive?
Thanks for any info..

There aren't any chip upgrades that I'm aware of as of yet but the LGT is a pretty hot car and I expect to see some upgrades pretty soon. That will be some great bang for the buck, as chip upgrades in turbo cars almost always are. I'd say a full turbo-back exhaust will free up quite a bit of HP as well, and I don't know if an intake will do anything or not. It doesn't do much on the WRX. I think it has yet to be determined what the limits of the turbo are, how much pressure it can run before it's overspinning. I do know of one company that's testing a short ram intake for the LGT, I don't know how well it works yet.

I can't wait to for some chips and exhuasts to flood the market as those are probably the only performance modifications I'm looking for. Ideally I'd love to get up to 300hp but anythign above 275 would be great which I don't think should be too unlikely given its stock turbo engine that there are always big gains to be had on.

Cobb Tuninng
I spoke with the guys at Cobb Tuning. They think that they will offer a 319 hp performance kit for the car. It won't be available for a few months. They said that the more people that bug them about the upgrades, the faster they will get the work done.

If the upgraded ECU specifically caused the issue, yes your warranty on said claim would be voided. It is for them to prove though. If your claim is for something like a leaky A/C unit, then no, Subaru or any other automaker cannot void your warranty.

BTW, ECUTek has already finished with the 05 Legacy. Some tuners already have the software, including I-Speed.
