05 GT Wagon wind noise

holy bjesus
I have the same friggin problem. High pitched noise at 50+ and also a low pitched rumble that's very loud. It's extremely irritating. I just purchased the vehicle for my wife over the weekend. So the dealer said nothing and that's all. THe low pitched noise seems to be the cross bars, although I haven't been successful in taking them off to see. THis low pitched noise is more annoying than the high pitched squeal. We should put a post together with people who have this problem. I"m totally unsatisfied.

Above is a link to another site, I posted the same question there.
I have talked with Subaru USA I have a case number, and I'm meeting with the dealer tomorrow and a Subaru rep. I let you know how I make out.

You're going to love this. Last night frustrated with the high pitched noise and low flutter drone. I took off the top cross bars. Very easy to do with the rack key, just spin counterclockwise and they'll release the clamps. Anyhow, took the car on the freeway and NO high pitched noise and NO low pitched drone. The car is actually very quiet now. Much more quiet than my 03 wrx ever was. It took all but 5 minutes to undo the racks. Looks like I'll be buying some sort of deflector now so I can make the racks functional again. I can't believe subaru wouldn't just include something as simple as a rack deflector to avoid this frustration with its customers. Try it. NO more noise. WHOOOO HOOOO!

Crossbar Noise
I don't have the crossbars on my '05 GT Wagon and I also don't have any noises while driving. I did have a rack on my truck with a basket and had the same problem. Actually made my truck shake when exceeding 70 MPH. I ended up leaving the rack off and all was well from then on.
