Turn signal bulbs that are silver but light orange

Im planning to clearout my headlight assy to take out that ugly
orange turn signal lense inside the headlight along with the
other wedge cover that looks like a small Reese's cup.

Anyway, if anyone knows the brand and model of the
bulb that is silver but lights up orange that has the correct
wattage for our 02WRX turn signals, please let me know.

oh yah, and another thing... just in case i can't find this
bulb....

if you were to paint the factory turn signal bulb orange,
what kind of paint do you use? Enamel?

Philips was selling this bulb a while back. I am not sure if they still sell it. It was a silver bulb on the outside but would like amber when the turn signal came on. I remember that one bulb was like $20 or something.

ok, found out that they are called Philips Silver Vision bulbs.

Who carries these bulbs in the US?

And, if anyone knows the correct size (& wattage) please
let me know.

The much-reviled APC makes a very nice 'titanium' bulb which blinks amber. Available at your local Pep boys for about $5-6

they are a bit decieving from the pics. I was pretty unhappy with mine cause i think they were more pink than anything. I ended up just tossing them and putting some amber bulbs in instead. Still looks better than factory but it's still noticable of course. I can't remeber where i ordered them from but I'm sure you can find on the internet somewhere. I think they came from Europe somewhere.-James

guys, thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if the Silver Vision (Philips) PY21W fits our WRX? I've never changed turn
signal bulbs so not sure if they are all the same or if there is a
specific size (like 9007 or H3).

Please let me know.

jjunior887 - do you mean that the SilverVisions were pink-ish or
the cheap ones at Pepboys? I'm going to check out my local
Autozone today.

Silvervisions definitely aren't pinkish. I have them.

magicMT- where did you get your Silvervisions? Would you let me know which part number you have? Is it the PY21W?

are the WRX turn signal bulbs 1156 or 1157 size?

I might go with the LED type intead. they look pretty darn cool.

From what I've read, LED lights in your turn signals will make them blink really fast and LED lights in your brake lights will disable the cruise control..

thanks for the info. naw, i dont want my turnsignals blinking fast like those out-dated rice mobiles. hehehe.

i found some raybrigs that are silver and light up amber too...
if i can just find out the size number.

1157 seems to be the one.
1156 looks like it, but the lower prongs stick out
from the wrong area.

btw, is there anyway to take off the headlight from
the car without taking out the 9007 bulb? i took the
headlight off on one side to pull out the turn signal
bulb tonight and noticed that it looks like i have to
take out the 9007 to fully separate the headlight
from the car.....
