swappin us sti 2 wrx cluster

hey folks, just as the subject says i am wondering if it is possible to swap in an 04-05 sti cluster that is red in place of my 02 cluster to go with my defi's and red lighting of the center control panel. also as far as the odometer reading is concerened you are screwed right? - you can't just "tamper" w/ the o.d. by i.e. replacing the o.d. from the sti cluster with my actual o.d. could i?
any info would be highly appreciated.

the connections on the 05 are different then the 04 sti gauge cluster

good luck even getting it programmed, that's tops the illegality list of things you can do to a car besides steal it

Is it something a good mechanic could do? I mean isn't there someone that could do it legally? I would think it would be more illegal to have a different cluster with wrong milage then with correct milage.

question about sti cluster

on the 04 STi cluster is the color of the odometer back lighting red or green?

To install the '04 STi cluster in an '02 WRX all you have to do is cut the B28 wire on the center wiring harness plug. If you want to set your odometer to the correct mileage, send it to: http://www.tacomaspeedometer.com They will do it for $65. Call them, they will tell you what to do.
