STi CF Spoiler functional?
My 2004 WRX gets tossed around quite a lot at high speed on the freeway, presumably from crosswinds. I hear the USDM Sti wing does a great deal to minimize this, and I was wondering if the JDM STi CF spoiler has the same effect? Aesthetically speaking, I prefer the smaller JDM one, however the added stability is more important to me. Can anyone help me out?

From what I've read, it performs best in conjunction with the STi V1 front lip. There are real windtunnels results for the combo, but I don't have the link on me right now...
Alone, I can say that the car does feel a bit stable at higher speeds than without a wing, but I can't really vouch for much more than that. I hate to say it, but I bought mine for style

I had one but i swapped for the wingless look. When i did have it on though i might have noticed a slight differnce at highway speeds but not much. From what i heard, the stock wrx wing is just an exterior mod and does not do much for performance.

what do us 04 owners do for the lip? you said the jdm sti wing works best with the V1 lip, they dont make a V1 lip for the sti, or do they?? what about something like the V-limited lip would that work the same?

I definitely need a front lip too. Someone reputable NEEDS to make a replica 2k4 V-limited lip, this is a niche just waiting to be filled. $500 for that thing is a bit ridiculous, especially because a lot of people will likely be scraping them off all the time.
Anything has got to be better than wingless. I get tossed all over the place by the wind when I'm at speed. Does anyone know if there's an underplate (or whatever you call it) made for our cars? The all-flat plastic things that go under the chassis to create downforce. I know the Protege 5 comes with one stock, I'd be surprised if no one made one for Imprezas.

gdogg -- the STi C/F wing is pretty different than the USDM STi wing, but they both get the job done nicely
blue blurr -- the STi C/F wing was originally designed to work specifically in conjunction with the STi V1 (and I believe that the V2 was made later to conform to this particular wing as well, but don't quote me on that), so naturally the two are most suited for each other.
However, the V-Limited lip does indeed create downforce, and although not designed specifically to work in conjunction with the STi CF wing, will nonetheless likely create good downforce along with the wing.
hashiriya -- Bozz Speed makes a front under wing, and several Japanese companies also make the "aero plates" for the front air dam. I can' t remember any companies off the top of my head, but I do remember that many of them make these plates in CF as well
