quick HID harness question

Hey.

i've decided to try to make my own harness for my 04 WRX so that i can put in my HIDs without cutting factory stuff.

Basically... i want to take the H1 terminal from https://www.i-club.com/forums/attach...&stc=1&thumb=1 and solder it onto the harness that came with my HID kit. It's in my lil diagram.

Thanks a lot!

Make sure when you are wiring it that you use you relay between the ballast and the wiring.

If for any reason there is a problem, the relay will burn out before you burn out the ballast.

#1- do NOT use the switched ground in the factory harness for the ballast negative. Connect it directly to ground, either a good chassis point or the battery.
#2- HID retrofits in the 04/05 don't work all that well. Yes you will get plenty of bright light but the beam pattern is not well focused and there is a lot of glare, particularly to oncoming traffic. If you have the proper bulbs for reflector lights (D2R vs. D2S for projector use) it may help minimize the glare somewhat, but the pattern will still be poor. The best HID solution for the 04/05 is a set of STi lights.

lol. thanks man.

it's really too bad that HIDs work like crap with the 04/05s. I tested them and they didn't seem soo bad. But then again.... that was in my garage.
