painted mirrors and splash guards
I am having my mirrors and subaru splash guards painted. I took them to Earl Scheib in El Paso and the process has taken two days longer than they told me. They said they were having trouble painting the mirrors and that they have had to repaint them twice. Has anyone had anything painted by this company? So far I am not impressed, but I guess it's only fair to wait and see how it turns out.

Were the parts new or were they older and need a lot of prep work? That might make a difference. But other than that, it is just scheduling and the anticipation that makes the wait really suck. Hope it is worth the wait.

The parts were all new, I have an '05. The splash guards were still in the box, and the mirrors looked good to me. They didn't have any scratches. I should be picking my car up today, I'll let you know how everything turned out.

It wasn't a dealership it was a paint and body shop. I actually just picked my car up and it looks ok. Actually the passanger mirror looks great, but the drivers side needs some work. The splash guards came out just fine, but i am going to spray a bedliner on them to prevent premature wear. I am going to wait about a week for the paint to completely dry before I spray them and put them on. As far as the mirror, they have already agread to fix it, but they want me to let the paint fully dry for about a week before I bring it back.

Sorry about the double post, Unfortunatly El Paso doesn't have a lot of "reputable" auto body shops (or anything else for that matter). If anyone has been here or lives here now you know what I mean.
