like, why won't my parking lights turn off?
I'm looking for input if anyone is offering.
2002 WRX
my parking lights (not running lights) will not turn off, e-break up/engaged, ignition off (key out), light switch on column off.
The only way I can turn them off is to pull one of the two fuses in that circuit.
i haven't tried to trouble shoot yet...
any direction?
Thanks.

Did you check both the switch behind the steering wheel as wel as the **** that turns on the headlights them selves. (There is a position that allows only the Parking lights to be on)

There is a parking light switch half way between the steering wheel and the instrument panel on the top of the steering column. It is separate from the headlight switch on the turn signal stalk.
It's most likely flipped to the 'on' position.
If it's your first Subaru, it's not an uncommon thing to overlook.

Peaty, I can't for the life of me figure out why SOA doesn't make a fix for this. A simple flashing LED in the switch would be visible to most people from the driver's seat. I like the fact that I don't have to think about turning my headlights off when I get out of the car (I don't leave 'em on), but many folks just haven't read every single paragraph in their owner's manual.
Because it isn't hard to bump that switch my mistake, I hope someone comes up with a mod to wire in an LED or hook into the factory door chime if the switch is left on when the key is out of the ignition.

I had to laugh when I read that his parking lights wouldn't shut off because my WRX is a Canadian car and after I got my gauges changed from metric to standard, mine wouldn't shut off. So I called the Subaru dealer! I felt so retarded! But he said they get tons of calls a day - no that doesn't really make me feel better.
