kill DRL's / keep park lights?
I have unplugged my DRL module next to the glovebox, and find it also disables my park lights. Is this the price of admission?
Or, is there a way to kill the DRL's and keep my park lights operable (either park switch on column or first position on light stalk)?

DRLs operate the low beam headlights only and have nothing to do with the parking lights. Removing the module should not affect the parking lights at all. Make sure you unplugged the proper connector.

Thanks Mulder,
Thanks for your original post with the instructions - those are what I followed. Just got my wrx wagon a few days ago and had to get rid of the DRL's.
Anyway-I'll double check tomorrow, but pretty sure I disconnected the correct one, as the DRL's are gone and nothing else has been affected, except for the park lights as I said.
I cannot get those on with either the park light switch on the column or via the first position on the light stalk.

cleared up - all OK
Thanks again Mulder-
My dumm - checked earlier during the daylight & by myself by checking reflection of the lights on my garage door. It's dark here now, and I just went out and find I just didn't see the park light relfection earlier during the day.
Park lights work - both switches - and the DRL's are killed. I have lights only when I want them.
Thanks again, and now happliy back into the car thing after many years of driving $500 cars in true Ralph Nader fashion.
Looking forward to many more mods ahead!

I'll just paraphrase them here.
Pretty simple, look between the glovebox and the kick panel. Not too far up, just above the plastic, there'll be an 8 or 10 pin rectangular connector, white plastic, plugged into a module (~1" x 2" box). Unplug it.
That's it.
Some shenanigans and hand contortions may need to be done to get a firm hold on it, but it took me a few minutes is all.
