HELP me with my dash gauges!!!
Pulled my needles off of my fuel/temp/speed/tach for a mod and they didn't go quite back where I wanted them.
Gonna go get a full tank of gas and set the fuel gauge now.
As I recall, standard operating temp is in between the two lines... just above the bottom?
Speed... shouldn't be a problem, I can zero that out and run some speed traps.
Help me with my tach. What is idle? (after car is warmed up) When should the rev limiter kick in?
If anyone has any better ways to set these I'm all ears. -and all thumbs as you can tell by the job I did, oh well.
Thanks fo' the help.

maybe green interior lights aren't so bad?
Everything is all fixed. It actually wasn't that hard to calibrate them, I was just being a spazz. I do not recomend screwing around in there.. it is not for the faint of heart. But all is well.
I'm an idiot.... but a very happy idiot (ignorance is bliss?) as I now have a lovely red gauge cluster to gawk at while driving. Red bulbs in the back were not cutting through the green overlay on the back of the faces. So I popped 'em off and hit the backs with paint remover. Red bulbs and voila! Also dug into the odometer and yanked out a piece of green crap... a dab of blue on the bulb and I have a perfect black and white odometer display (matches my new headunit) Last job was the stock boost gauge... now red as well.
Ah, but I'm not done yet... gonna scrap the red bulbs and paint the face-backs red... that way I can keep my yellow needles with the red face. (Using faux stained glass paint from Krylon) What fun! Sounds like a job for tomorrow. I'll take some picks after nightfall if I get it the way I want it (gotta do some heavier coats in spots to fight the uneven lighting.)
Anyway, if anyone is feeling as stoopid as me, drop me a line and I'll give you all the details and save you some money on Indeglows.

Sigh... unhappy with results... again. What a crappy gauge cluster. Damn uneven lighting. I got some red numbers and some pink numbers and those gauge faces will only take so much abuse before paint stripper will eat right through them. Oh well, I splurged and am waiting for an aftermarket gauge overlay from speedhut. So much for being clever. Lol... driving around all day without any readable gauges... would that hold up in court for a speeding ticket?
