GReddy gauge wiring - HELP
I hate wiring.
I have a greddy EGT and fuel pressure gauge, and today I decided to finally wire the thing together.
It requires a 12v source, ignition hookup, illumination hookup, and ground.
The 12v is hooked up to the cigarette lighter fuse, the illumination to, surprise, the lights fuse (as referenced off projectwrx.com), the ignition to the ignition fuse, being the one next to the illumination fuse as far as I can tell. Ground is attached to the hood latch bolt.
After hooking everything up, The gauge works, until I turn on the lights. When I turn the lights on, it cuts the gauge out. No sign of illumination on the gauge either. If I unhook the illumination wire, it doesnt work at all.
What's goin on with this thing? Any help? Anyone?

When I hooked up my gauges, I tapped everything through the radio. Another place where you could tap would be the clock up on the center of the dash. Double check your wiring. For illumination, I just taped the source when the lights come on, a 12V constant will appear. Did you check all the connections with a volt meter?

Update-
The gauge illumination is on, VERY dimly, when the lights are not turned on. The thought occured to me that I have the ignition and illumination wires crossed, but the manual is pretty clear WHITE- Illumination, ORANGE- Ignition, and the power on the gauge cuts fine when I start the car.
Well from the mounting location of my data link unit i'm left with just the fuse box as a source of power. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm going to try again when I have some light...
Sigh.
