Fog light bulb replacement
Anyone replaced the bulbs for their foglights?
i searched for instructions and found out how to do it. just wasn't sure if it was worth the hassle, or if i should just have the dealer 'deal' with it.
also, i recently cleared my headlights; which no one has complimented me on yet =( --> https://www.i-club.com/forums/interior-exterior-lighting-69/clearing-05-headlights-101163/
- but i was curious, my turn signal is now 'white' without the amber. i'm sure
there are pigs out there who thrive on writing tickets for things of this
nature. should i replace the signal bulb with an orange bulb? does such a
thing exist? or should i just not worry about, and if i do see a pig, drive
straight or don't signal at all if they're opposite of me?

yeah the fog lights arnt too bad. I am not too sure what type of bulbs you have but 90% of bulbs have amber alturnitives with simmular part numbers.ex. ifyour bulbs are 9321a the amber ones would be 9321b same numbers but letter designation at the end will be different.
I would suggest changing them because if you are any thing like me you have more questionable things on your car than just white blinkers.... dont give them an oppertunity to get a closer look at your car.
just go down to a murries or even mijer use there fancy little computer and look up your bulb then look on the rack neer it you sould be able to find the amber ones. Keep in mind bulbs arnt an exact science just find one thats amber with the same leads and size as your stock one.
wow that took alot more explaining for how simple of a process it is.

yea well i like details. they help me when i get confused, so thanks
how is the replacement though? when i cleared my lights i didn't really think about changing the blinkers, so i have no idea. obviously it's just the bulb itself (like a domelight or whatever), not like the driving, or hi beam bulbs. do i need to disconnect wires too and get really nerdy with it? or is it fairly simple?

On the 04/05's the procedure is to detach the corner of the lower cover/splash guard, then you can reach up inside behind the bumper and open the cap behind the fog light to remove/replace the bulb. On earlier cars with the large fogs, the light is removed from the front (three bolts) to change the bulbs.

oh, so then for my 05, i would just release those pop tabs from underneath? how many should i release so that i could get access?
i'm assuming i would need a jack since i can barely fit my head in there.

You shouldn't need to jack the car up for this, unless your car is lowered or you have an unusually large head.
If you do need more clearance try putting that corner up on a curb, that should give you enough room.
Release enough of the clips so you can get your hand in there and see the back of the fog light. The clips are easy to break, be careful with them. Might want to get some spares to have on hand just in case.

so i pop the tabs and open it up just enough to get my hand(s) in there? is bulb replacement a PITA or not so bad? any unhooking of the wires or anything, since the manual doesn't mention anything?
