Drivers side power window stopped working... anyone else?!
Today marks they where my drivers side power window decided to complety cut out...
I have 20% window tint on both of the front windows, and for the last 4 months or so my drivers side power window module hasn't been up to par. I would pull the switch up to "roll" up the window, but it at times take 10 seconds of me holding it up to finally engage the motor to up the window.
Today, it finally decided to stop working entirley...and my windows all the way down.. damnit
What could it BE!!!!
Maybe an electrial component thats still under my factory warranty?!
I'm wondering here if perhaps it's an easy fix.. such as taking off the door panel and making sure theres no shortages or something like that.. I checked all the fuses so i'm good off that.
Also, if infact it's an electrical component malfunction and it's coverd under warranty, should I remove the front window tint, as having tint could void the warranty. Another, is there any type of seal or security device that would be identified if my drivers side door panel is taken off (by the dealership)
Any help is more than appreciated
thx peeps

aight.. Incase you all wanted to know the solution to this:
If you still have a warranty take it to the dealership (thats a big DUH i guess)
anyways, they didn't give me any type of crap for having tint.. and the problem was the window motor.. so they ordered a new one and will install it upon arrival
yay

I would have suggested checking the motor my moms passenger side window stopped working, and then one day I as driving the car and bored so I kept flicking the switch really fast and it started to work. not that I'm saying this is a good fix, I just thought I'd share the story

That sucks! Mine stopped working this past weekend. It was down when it stopped workign and it was raining!!!
I spent about 30 minutes messing with it in the rain until I got it to go up. It smoked and I saw a few sparks too. I guess that is bad

Hm, my driver's side window is doing the opposite. The up direction works great and the motor still seems to be good. Going down give it problems. Its almost like the window sticks in the door as it is going down, because, if you push down on the window, it drops to its correct position with a clunk!
I'm guessing I need to lob something in there to lube it (silicone or something).
