Thanks svrex, I found that post when I did a search but I had the same luck with disconnecting the white controller box: all my headlights went out. I was hoping someone on this forum had actually done this successfully while keeping their brake light from staying on all the time. Oh, well. Trying to get the dealership to let me look at their schematic manual....

quality HID bulb is rated to have a lifetime of 3000hrs... even if you drives your car for 3hrs/day... you still don't need to worry about replacement for 3years... also, unlike halogen, turning on/off often wouldn't hurt the bulb.

PS.. I did disable the DRL but it was easy.. just unplug the socket right in front of passenger strut tower on my 97.

Sorry but i cannot find the proper procedure to disable the DRL's. I have an 03 wrx impreza wagon. I removed the glove-box the only plug/switch connector was for the headlights...i found no other connectors to disable the DRL's. Please help
