Cut my stock shift boot, need to replace

I put an aftermarket momo shift **** in my 04 wrx wagon a year ago. I cut the plastic ring out of the top of the boot and it has since come out of the ****. (probably should have used a little more care) I want to get a stock boot and the momo **** now offered by subaru. (I assume it mates with the plastic ring in the stock boot)
Does anyone know if i can get just a stock boot? If i can, how hard is it to take off the metal clips holding the old one on? Where can i find replacement clips? Would it be easier to buy a whole new center trim piece?

I don't think I understand your question. I replaced my boot in my 05, so unless there is a difference between the two years, I don't know what metal clips you are talking about. On my car the boot is sort of wrapped around a rectangular plastic piece which clips to the bottom of the silver colored plastic trim. I wish I could help more, but with your discription and my lack or 04 knowledge, I've given all i got.

they must be different, with the 04 the plastic rectangle is held in place with little metal rings that slide over plastic tabs. You have to cut the metal rings to take the boot off. But i think i figured out what i'm going to do.
Thanks for the reply

I have a center piece with stock boot attached for sale. Totally new and blemish free. PM me for details.
