Cracked Windshields
My wife and I each own 2003 Subaru’s. Hers is a Forester purchased in March of 2003. Mine is an Outback Wagon purchased in July of 2003. We both have cracked windshields. I’m not talking about little cracks but 3 foot plus long cracks. Granted both started at rock chips or star but each have progressed to huge cracks. I also know of three other people with cracked windshields on 2003 Subies.
I’ve had other vehicle with 3X time the rock chips or stars that never progress any bigger then they started out and these are on older “sun beaten” windshields.
Anyone else here have this problem or is it just bad luck and coincidence?

This cold weather is brutal on cracks. As soon as the heat from your defroster hits the cold windsheild in spreads like crazy. I had the same thing happen to me last year in my old chevy blazer. I could actually watch it spread across the windshield as I was driving.
