It is "carbon fiber look". At least it was back in 2002, so I assume it's the same for the 2003 models.

If you look in to it and it doesn't trip you out, then its not real CF. Real CF has a layered appearance behind a laminate, because thats how its made, CF look on the other hand, is usually just painted on using various shades of silver and grey
