Carbon Fiber Hood Questions to those who have them

I'm going to get a new hood soon and was considering a carbon fiber one as an option however, I notice that on most of the sites that sell them they HIGHLY recommend hood pings. I do not want hood pins.

So my question is have you noticed any problems with your carbon fiber hood? Does it shake at speeds... do you need the pins?

Appreciate any and all comments

I don't have one but have talked to several people
that do and they all say the same thing. They say
that the scoop grabs so much air that at highway
speeds the hood begins to lift. So It's best to be
safe and go with the pins.
but it's your life

or jegs I can't remember but they are alot
cleaner looking. IMHO

Let me know if anyone can find them. a body shop can get them for like 70 bucks.
What do you mean by the hood lifting at fast speeds? Did you use a splitter and seal underneath the scoop or you just left it as it is? I heard most people with CF hoods don't use splitters. Also did you have to transfer the rubber seals from the stock hood to the carbon fiber one? Thanks for the help.

My wife has the Seibon Cwest style CF hood on her wrx and Perrin FMIC. The hood wobbled a little w/o hoodpins, but with the hoodpins there was no movement at all. I highly suggest using hoodpins. I have seen cars with CF hoods and no hoodpins, and their hoods actually lifting and smacking into the windshield during high speeds.
