I have two neon lights spliced to the wire powering the 12v socket for a cigarette lighter. The other wire is grounded properly. There is also a switch between the cigarette socket wire and the neon to turn the lights on/off. The lights go on, but when I turn them off, the fuse blows.

Why does it do that?

1st positive to the socket
1st negative to 2nd positive
2nd negative to the socket?

or

both positive to socket
both negative to socket?
