blown fuse with fog mod

I recently did the fod light mod with taping into the illum. fuse, also I rewired so the switch would light up anytime the fogs were on. All I did was just taped the wire i used to power the fog into the switch wire and taped another to ground it. I did not cut the wires to the switch just taped into them. After a few days the light switch fuse under the engine bay blew, i replaced it try it again and it worked fine, why would a fuse be fine for a while then all the sudden blow?

I seem to remember asking you why you needed that light on if you already know with every combo you throw they are on... Parking lights, low beams, high beams, they are ON dude!!! Always on.
