2004 WRX headlights. 9005 or D2R?
I got a question about the light bulbs on the front headlights. According to the owner's manual, the HIGH BEAM uses a 9005 HB3 and LOW BEAM uses D2R. And this is the problem. From the diagram they refer high beam to the inner bulbs and low beam to the outside bulbs. And i realize that both daytime and night time driving lights are from the low beam bulbs. So here i bought a pair of sylvania silverstar 9005ST bulbs and the guy said it suppose to replace the LOW BEAM of my car. Also there isn't any D2R bulbs from Sylvania nor Piaa. So the question is do i replace the silverstar 9005ST to the low beam slot or not?

D2R bulbs are HIDs. This would apply only to the STi which has factory HIDs, whereas the WRX and other 04 Imprezas have halogens.
The bulbs for the 04s with halogens are H1 low beam, 9005 high beam.
The bulbs for the 04s with halogens are H1 low beam, 9005 high beam.
