02 wrx front end mask?

I was thinking they were the same too. There are a few reasons why the brochure says no WRX...
1.) Maybe the front bumper is slightly different (a difference I can't see in photographs, but a difference that doesn't allow the bra to fit correctly).
2.) Subaru wants you to buy the more expensive WRX bra.

I have one and it fits. I bought the bra / hood cover from the dealer early on when they were listed as a part number for the wrx. Subaru d/c listing them for the wrx because they interfered with the air flow to the intercooler (so I heard). It probably also traps underhood heat.
There are two rock shields that extend above the surface of the hood cover and are directly in front of the scoop. I cut mine off to reduce interference.
Ps I do not use the covers. The damage from the bra to the paint is about equal to the damage from rock dings. I only use it if I know I'm going tho be in gravel alot.

The bra will fit, but it is not recommended for use on the WRX because like john steele said, the flaps will interrupt the airflow to the intercooler. That is bad. They make one for the WRX that doesn't have those flaps on it, if you're really set on getting one.

True, i'm not sure if the hoods are different in size between the RS and the WRX but either way the reason they don't sell them to wrx is because they interfere with the air flow to the intercooler.
and the same thing goes with the Hood/Bug Deflector.
