common failures
ok i dont know where this should really go but i guess this is as good a place as any...if the mods disagree feel free to move
i found this on a m3 forum and thought it was a good idea,
lets discuss all the common failures and warning signs on the GD chassis and engine, kind of a one stop shop for things to watch for.
the things i know, im still a noob with subys BUT:
rear shock mounts
i have heard wheel bearings
anyone else feel free to add...lets see if we can get a good list going here for everyone to be able to look at!

Relating to the 2 areas you mentioned,I've learned this about STis:
1) The rear struts can start to clatter internally-often comes back after replacement-greasing chrome slider can stop or prevent it-worked for me.
2) The rear axle nuts are sometimes undertorqued from factory, causing clicking/creaking noises when starting off/stopping/rolling very slowly-could lead to bearing damage if ignored-use new nuts, wheels off,140 lb-ft--worked for me.
