beeping when locking/unlocking

Does anyone know how to make it so that when using the keyless entry the horn doesn't beep, without completely disconnecting the horn? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Not sure on your year, but on the '07 STI you do as follows..

Get in the car
Put the key in the ignition
Open the drivers door
Remove the key from the ignition
Press and hold the unlock button on the door
Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds
Close the drivers door while STILL holding unlock within 10 seconds of the sixth time you pull the key out
The hazards will flash three times to confirm.

Also you could try to open the door, hit unlock on the remote, and then hold lock and unlock at the same time for more than 2 seconds.

Hope this helps.

for a bugeye do the following:
-with the doors closed (the car can either be locked or unlocked I think)
-press both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote at the same time and hold them down until it honks

I did this half expecting it to be a joke and that I was going to be the goose. Worked like a charm, thanks!

Disabling the chirp, required. Did it the first day my car was purchased.

It looks similar to the method above...here is the snip from the 09 owners manual...

Yes, turns it off or on.

I remember having to hold down the unlock button while even opening and closing the door.
