Car Info: white 03 sedan
so jon, did you have to replace yours? cuz my gasket is still in good condition...i got 32500 miles on my motor...this only happened after my battery went and i push started the car a few times...could that have caused it?

Even though the gasket may seem to be good it might be bad. any air leakage could cause your IACV to throw that CEL. it could also be stretched. that's how my gasket was. i cleaned mine really really good and made sure that the piece inside the IACV could move. make sure you lubricate though cause that also helped. I will be ordering a new gasket sometime but at this point in time no since my liquid silicone gasket is holding up. if you do use that don't put to much since it could go into your intake manifold and cause problems.

push starting should have caused this problem i bet it's due to the carbon build up on your IACV.

actually...i did notice my gasket was a bit stretched...maybe i'll try some silicone gasket...thanks for all the help guys...i'll keep you posted

NO PROBLE DUDE!!!

if it was a little stretched then that's it! get some silicone gasket make a nice even bead on the throttle body side of silicone but don't put to much but just enough to seal the connection. be careful when placing the IACV back onto the throttle body being careful not to shift it while doing so. that can cause silcone to go into the wrong areas causing it to go into the intake manifold. let it cure 100% read the directions (very important). I used the blue one but you can use any one that says gasket maker. make sure you look at the temp rating though.

let me know if you need help dude. I cleaned mine so well you couldn't see any black anywhere inside the IACV. spent hours cleaning it but well worth it
