My GC8 2.5RS for Sale and some GC8 parts
OK... as some of you know... I'm getting married now and the wifey can't drive stick and pretty much doesn't want to learn so I gotta sell this car so I can buy a slushbox car.
I bought this car from Shaggy at the dealer last year.. I think it was July '07.
So... for those of you who saw it... some of you may remember. I forgot who's old car this was.
Had around 79.8K miles back then... if I remember correctly.
It now has around 81.3K miles.
2001 Impreza 2.5 RS GC8 Sedan
Silverthorne Metallic Exterior
Black Interior
5spd Manual Tranny
WRX 16" Wheels with Fuzion ZR1 tires with about 90% tread left (majority of my short ownership, I was running on the Advan Neovas, which is why this tire was barely used)
2.5 RS coupe wing (I think that's the STi ver. 4 wing???)
Things done to the car before I bought it:
JDM Powerfolding Mirrors
Camber Plates (not sure which one)
Amplifiers in the trunk (not hooked up to anything)
Alpine Alarm System
Things I did to fix the car up and maintenance during my ownership:
- Oil change when first bought with Mobil 1 SAE 5W30 Synthetic
- Replaced broken steering rack and tie rods (that's why the steering was all funny, Shaggy)
- Replaced power steering fluid after steering rack replacement
- 4 wheel alignment on the WRX wheels done yesterday
- Replaced transmission fluid with Redline
Mods I did during my ownership:
- STi Short Shift kit with linkage
- Kartboy Polyeurathane front and rear shifter bushings
- Kartboy Polyeurathane exhaust hangers
- Prodrive Axleback muffler
- Exedy Stage 1 Sport Clutch
- Exedy Lightweight Flywheel
- Had the Tint redone all around... Charcoal 35%
- All Weather Floormats (Technically for the '02+ Impreza... but it fits)
- OEM CF style Interior Trim
- Kenwood DDX-6019 7" Touchscreen Double DIN LCD
- OEM Clutch pedal cover (there was none when I bought it. My foot would slip on the clutch whenever it rained outside.)
- New OEM shifter boot (old one was cut up)
- JDM Momo WRX Steering Wheel
If you want receipts for parts and labor... I've got most of it.
I got the WRX steering wheel and the steering rack (minus tie rods) from forum members and the Kenwood Double DIN and STi short shifter from eBay so no receipts for those.
I have a friend that really wants me to part out the Kenwood deck, but if the new owner really wants it, I'll probably just leave it in there.
Things wrong with the car...
The rear trunk floor bottom. I guess the previous owner had some kind of custom sound system in there and didn't put back the floorboard in the trunk.. so it's practically a hole where the spare tire used to be. Also, the old aftermarket amplifiers are still in there, but aren't being used.
Also, both driver and passenger side view mirrors rattle. This is because the previous owner installed JDM folding mirrors and the screw holding it is loose. Tried to tighten, but the screw head is stripped. My friend let me borrow this screw-out thing, but have been so busy with the wedding to get around to doing it. Also, kinda scared since I've never used it before and don't want to make the screw worse.
The third brake light on the trunk spoiler does not light up either. I guess it's not wired or something, but it's been like that since I bought it.
The car may need new engine mounts to make driving a bit more quieter.
The Exedy flywheel gives out a lot of flywheel chatter when off the gas at over 2000 rpm.
There's a few knicks and dents and scrapes here and there... but it's been around the block a few times. The dealer told me that the previous owner autocrossed the car several times.
The camber plates the previous owner put on... Shaggy couldn't get them off. But they still work if you want to change it (I think).
My asking price is $9K for the car.
If anyone is considering it and wants to take a look, you can always PM me.
I check it often. Thanks.
I'll get some pics of it posted tomorrow.
Parts off the car for sale:
JDM front clear corners
JDM rear clear tail lights
Subaru Momo Airleather Shift ****
Prodrive 17x8 GC-05F British Black wheels
Yokohama Advan Neovas 245/40/17 60% tread
Just throw me some PMs with offers on these.

BTW... forgot to say...
If the potential buyer wants the parts for sale at the bottom left on the car, we can work out a deal with that too.
Also... if the new buyer wants... I still got the original shifter linkage and carpet floor mats if you want that too. I can just throw that in if you want. I was going to throw it out, if not.

OK, PMed and called everyone.
Thanks for your inquiries, guys!
Sad to see the AWD machine go... but wife wants an automatic and I guess I'm whipped now.
If anybody is interested... my 2005 BMW M3 (10,300 miles) is also for sale soon.
Haven't finished putting it back to stock yet since my wedding's next week, but once I get some time and finish that, that car will also start going for sale.

OK... a few pics of the car as promised.
Sorry, I didn't wash the car before taking the pics, but like I said, I've been very busy lately. I promise to wash it before selling the car though.
At the moment, I have a few interested parties for the GC8, but nothing has been finalized yet until I get an assurance that the person wants to buy it.
This is the passenger side view of the car.
This is the driver side view of the car.
This is the rear of the car. I bought and put back all the original badging. The car had a few STi badges and an APEX N1 sticker on it when I bought it and that looked way too tacky for me. The Prodrive muffler can be seen here too. The safety check stickers also used to be on the bumper, but I bought a bracket and put it on the bottom. Also stated above, those clear JDM tail lights will not be on the car at the sale.
This is the driver side rear of the car.
This is the driver side front of the car. I put the OEM black Subaru badge back on. The previous owner had a pink i badge on the car and I'm not much for pink. Stated above, those clear JDM corners will not be on the car at sale.
This is the passenger side front of the car.
This is the front seat view. I installed the JDM WRX Momo steering wheel in there. Worlds apart from the original one. Also, the Kenwood double DIN DDX-6019 touch screen is installed there replacing the old crappy Alpine deck that used to be in there. The shift boot was also cut up when I bought it. As you can see in the pic, it's been replaced with a new one. The boot is still too tall though (which is why the previous owner had cut it) for the STi short shifter. Instead, I just folded in the leather. Doesn't look bad and still looks clean. Also, I added the OEM CF style center dash trim. You can also see '02+ Impreza all weather floormats in there. But they seem to fit fine in GC8s too. However, the Subaru Momo Airleather shift **** will not be on there at sale.
This is the rear seat view. You can also see the all weather floormats here.
This is the trunk of the car. Excuse the poster tubes in the trunk. Like I said, this car probably had some kind of custom sound system in here before, which is why the floorboard to the trunk is gone. Also, the amps in the trunk also came with the car. They're not hooked up to anything. I believe they're in working condition.

I know you've heard this way too many times, but I would seriously buy your car if I had the money.
IMHO pictures at night time with flash really show everything, and judging from those pictures, the interior is pristine.
I sincerely wish you best of luck with your sale and I hope the buyer of this car takes care of it. RS's are even harder to find now, being over 7 years since the last one was made ..
Funny note, the GC8 RS was apparently not a hot seller during it's time because people thought it was ugly. haha.
I always thought it was nice since '95.
JUST MY 10 cents. aha.
Free Bump.
