I'm a noob with subaru o2 sensors, but with some research, i think you could get a universal one for $40 - $60

Unless its a 5v honda civic kind of sensor, most are basic 1v 4 wire with heater sensors. maybe a bit of splicing for the harness... but fairly easy.

i havent really driven my wrx much since the change, but p0031 has not reappeared.on a side note, im on a servco ban. will not be buying anything from there unless its an emergency.....i had prematurely thought i needed an oil pump for my wrx. i had asked for the 08 sti oil pump, which would be an upgrade for the wrx. i was told that "thats a different part number than the one for my car". i said yeah, but you can still use the 08, its an upgrade. my bad but i didnt check the part number on the box when i picked it up. i obviously didnt need an oil pump for my wrx, never used it, if in fact it needed a pump, im sure it would have blown up by now because its been over a year later, lol. since my sti needed a pump, i figured i could use the 08 one that i had thought i picked up. i checked the box and it was the wrong part number. even though i had asked for the 08 pump, i was given the pump which part number matched my car (02 wrx). i called servco to see if they could do the switch, i honestly dont think it was my fault that i was given the wrong part.....was told that he would talk to the manager and get back to me....i had to call again and was told NO, since it had been almost a year, it was too late. im sorry but that kind of pissed me off. i had asked for something, but was given something else. i dont care if the part number didnt match my car, i could have still used that 08 pump on my wrx or sti. just pisses me off cause ive thrown down so much money there.....i dont think anyone else has bought 2 complete timing belt parts (minus the belts) from servco......i used to buy all my stocker parts there (ive spent thousands at servco), but after that little incident, i started to buy parts online. thats why i say, go buy from rockauto. i had no isses there.

as an FYI, for those who do not know...the difference betweens the pumps, the 08 sti pump is an 11mm pump, while the pump i was given for my 02 wrx was a 10mm pump. prior to the 08 sti, the pumps on our cars were the 10mm pump. as mentioned, you can run the 11mm, its an upgrade. sadly, i was able to get the jdm 12mm pump for less than what i paid servco for the 10mm one:/

Let me know what route you go with. My front o2 is bad as well. Although I had it overridden with my previous tunes, I want that damn CEL gone already haha!

+20 for rock auto. I used them in the past and they got me my MAF for my Evo within like a week and I am stationed in Korea.
Personally I would just buy new as far as an O2 sensor is concerned. Those things are in direct 1200-1600 degree heat constantly. To me it just makes more sense to buy new.

both are O2 sensors both in OEM config are narrow band. we just opt to put a wide band in the rear so we can measure the air/fuel ratio (O2) when we start going beyond stock AFR's levels to make more power. the front and rear O2's can read that low but they are not accurate. hence why we put wide bands in.
