Anyone want to get into mountain biking without spending a fortune?
http://fisherbikes.com/bike/archivemodel/240
RETAIL $2640.00
Asking $1000 Firm 861 2328
2006 Gary Fisher Fat Possum GOOD CONDITION, Almost like New.
I just had this bike shipped here from the mainland a few months ago.
It does not have the ridiculous Hawaii bicycle license, but my roomate works at "The Bike Shop" so I will try to get one
Small/Medium
should be a good fit for anyone between 5'5" and 5'10"
6" travel front and rear, but air suspension keeps the weight down.
Rear shock has "pedal platform" to make climbing easier.
The rear suspension design actually stiffens as you exert pedal force in smaller gears.
I'm selling this because I want someting with a little longer top tube and beefier all around.
Frame:
Platinum Series ZR9000 Externally Butted aluminum
Genesis All Mountain Geometry
Wheels:
Bontrager Race Disc wheelsystem w/20mm thru-axle
Components:
Shimano M-571 XT rear derailleur
Shimano M-580 XT front derailleur
Bontrager Race GXP 44/32/22 crank
Hayes HFX-9 hydraulic disc brakes w/ 6" rotors
cheapo aluminum platform pedals
Suspension:
6061 T6 aluminum swingarm w/ Box channel main pivot
External 38mm OD cartridge bearings with eccentric cam
RockShox Pike 409 Dual Air fork w/Maxle thru-axle and 150mm travel

They actually make a completely different frame with different geometry (genesis 2 geometry) designed to fit women, their riding style and weight distribution better.

depends on your riding style really, this is the smaller version of this bike. Personally i like small bikes with a low standover height, long top tube, and short rear.
I'm sure you could ride it, the standover height would not be the best...but nothing with 6 inches of travel will give you ball clearance if you are 5'2", unless you put 24 inch rims on it. I have seen quite a few people do this for play/jumping bikes. it would still be trail rideable but woudnt roll over bumps as smoothy as bigger wheels.
You could pedal it around and take some small drops and see what you think.
