IMO an EBCS is irreplaceable. If your vehicle is purely a track car then yes, an MBC will work fine. However, for DD applications, maintaining the EBCS in the system gives you enormous control over your boost, arguably the most important aspect of your motors health, and drive-ability.

I like how it has an OEM connector for an easy install. Going with what Krang said, an MBC has limits like the inability to auto adjust with weather changes and TPS. You can run target boost on a nice warm day, but come night, it can go higher in colder weather. What I did was tune with the MBC to target boost at night so it won't creep or spike in cold weather. Sure you'll run slightly lower boost during the day and a tad richer but at least the rich mixture helps with combustion cooling for added safety.
