WRX Gas Mileage Question..
hey guys,
I've read the specs and everything about the regular wrx (not sti) and was wondering what kind of gas mileage you guys really get if you were to drive conservatively? Just trying to get a better feel as to what type of mileage I'd actually be getting if I got one.

yeah not a fair question whitecel, reason being is that most guys on here dont have stock wrxs...i cant even answer it cuz i aint in HI anymore. but from what i remember, if you have a stock wrx (mine is an 03), then you should be getting about 300+ to the tank (using GOOD 92oct).

I got 305 05 WRX had it topped off.
I got 421 miles on a Pontiact G6 GT Coupe what gives?
This is a 3.5 liter V6 I think some of the cylinders cut out during cruise.

its possible Anti-hero, but dont you think that thats something Pontiac would advertise? I know Honda is doing it on some of their cars, but they make mention of that fact. who knows...perhaps the difference is factory tuning.
05 WRX: smaller motor but more aggressive timing (+turbo)
G6: bigger motor but due to that fact they left it relatively tame
thats my reasoning.

Peter, if most of your driving is in the city, then naturally, your range will be less than highway-driven cars.
I average about 330miles/tank on Kauai...because most of that is "freeway" driving.

Question!: If I get a downpipe, will that increase my gas mileage since the turbo spools up faster? I already have a cat-back exhaust. The reason I ask this question is because some people told me it would, but when I installed my downpipe for my 04 wrx I felt as if my mpg went down ? maybe its because I was throttle happy when I installed it???
