Wow, I got my car Wednesday, and I've already had 2 run-in's with the Police

Well, this isn't a cop bashing thread like some of you thought it might be, or at least not mainland cops ! I got pulled over 1 hour after picking my car up in St. Louis on my way back to IN. 81 in a 65. The cop was the most polite and respectful I have ever encoutered in my more than 20 times of being pulled over. He was very courtious, but still gave me a ticket. I have a K-40 so it will be paid for so I didn't care ! The officer did make some comment about it being a wet drive from HI.

Tonight comming home from EFI:101 in Chicago I was going either 70 or 80 in a 55, I can't remember which. I was in the left lane, and I noticed an SUV comming up on me very quickly. I got in my right lane, and he followed. I hit "Cancel" on my cruise and started costing. I came to a stop light, and it was green, until I was within 100 feet of it. It turns yellow, but I kept going and just turned red as I was almost through the intersection. Flashing lights came on, I pulled over. I gave the cop my licence, and he said that the picture wasn't me. I told him the picture was old and I had gained some weight since it was taken. I gave him another form of ID to prove it was me. He ran my HI plates and they matched a 1991 Dodge Pick-up truck! He immediately got worried and thought I stole the car and the plates. He called back-up! I gave him my registration and proved him wrong. Needless to say, I got no ticket, and he was happy he got to see a car with HI plates on it. The two cops were actually conservation officers, and were also pretty polite. I just wanted to say that these two incidents have given me a respect for police that I lost for them while I was in Hawaii. The two or so HIIC officers are good guys (Hoppie, and Howler?), but I don't know about the rest of them. BTW EFI:101 was amazing and anyone who wants to tune should go.

70 or 80 in a 50 0_o, don't come to Tahiti... you'll lost your driver license and your car .

Good to hear Police are pretty cool in the MainLand. Since I got two tickets, I'm scared to go out without a recon sticker

Okay, sorry I wasn't for sure howler, that is why I used the ?. Chris I was pulled over a total of 8 times in Hawaii. I have been pulled over 2 times since I've been back, and 10 times before I ever got to Hawaii. Not all of the times were for speeding. And I never got a ticket until I got to Hawaii.

Nate, I think in your job search you should look at being a cop. You have more experiance with traffic stops than most 25 year veterans. Glad to hear you had some positive experiances, I guess it just is more proof that Hawaii cops hated you. Excluding me ofcourse.

Dude, I was really interested in being a cop, but my back is so ****ed up I could never be one any more. BTW I just got pulled over again tonight. I'm starting a thread about my trip to AZ.

Not bashing cops either, but last week on wednesday, there was a checkpoint on the end kapahulu and ofcourse the huge spoiler gets me in trouble with the boyz in blue. what kinda ticked me though was the guy said the wing was "obstruction" and that it blocked my view behind me. i tried to explain the wing's stock but he didnt believe me. oh well jus meeting the quota i guess.

I now live in Indiana just like my location says. I just used the excuse of weight gain. My face looks exactly the same despite gaining 40 or so pounds since the picture. The picture was at least 3 years old, so maybe that explains it. Maybe the cop was just on Mescaline.
